K 2010 Outlook: DSM's two new high temperature resistant products for automotive engine silos are expected

DSM will display two new types of Diablo high temperature resistant polyamides for automotive engine silos: stanyldiabloocd2300 and akulondiablo at the k2010 exhibition in Germany

at present, the application of automobile engine compartment changes with each passing day by changing the speed of Electromechanical, such as using higher turbocharging pressure and smaller displacement engine of exhaust gas recirculation system, so that the air pipe, intake manifold, intercooler air chamber and other automobile engine compartment components are exposed to the environment of rising operating temperature. As the problem of temperature becomes more and more critical, and the requirement of service life continues to increase, if the components are still manufactured with current thermoplastic materials, it will pose a potential threat to the long-term service life of these components. Compared with other high-performance polyesters in similar applications, stanyldiabolocd2300 is the only material that can withstand high temperature at the same time and provide better mechanical properties

stanyldiabloocd2300 is a special high-temperature resistant polyamide 46 material. Its long-term thermal stability has been revolutionary improved. It is specially developed to meet the increasing long-term thermal aging temperature of the engine compartment. By limiting thermal oxidative decomposition, stanyldiablo can successfully pass the high-temperature test for more than 3000 hours at a thermal aging temperature of 230 ℃ before its tensile strength is less than half of its initial value. This technology was developed and patented by DSM

stanyldiablo ocd2100 and ocd2300 launched in 2007 are not only better than current high-temperature resin products in high-temperature stability, but also in weldability, welding strength and long-term thermal stability of welding. With these two materials, the design and function of automotive components can be realized in a more convenient way. More importantly, during the required service life, the reliability of engine compartment components can be guaranteed. Stanyl material is easy to process. The temperature of the mold and tool usually used in the injection molding stage is 80 ℃, and the melting temperature is about 300 ℃. The extremely short molding cycle also effectively reduces the system cost

in order to make Diablo's product series more complete, DSM will also introduce akulondiabo, a high temperature resistant single 6 polyamide material. This high-performance akulon is specially developed for air/fuel systems. This material can be used continuously in the environment up to 210 ℃, even in the environment of 230 ℃ for a short period of time. At k Exhibition 2010, DSM engineering plastics will announce the commercialization of akulonrc mono6 polyamide. The new material is planned to be launched at the end of 2010, and the application products of this material will be sold in early 2011. At present, markivsyst è mesmoteurs, a well-known system supplier in the industry, is conducting professional evaluation on this new material and other materials

ralphramaekers, global manager of DSM engineering plastics powertrain engine/transmission and turbocharging system commented: "The addition of stanyldiablo ocd2300 and a189 tower crane kulondiallo product series can bring more choices of plastic materials to replace metal materials for engine compartment applications. Our Diablo product series can now enable us to meet all the needs of the air pipe supply chain. In addition, based on the reports of researchers and early users, another solution is to provide standard akulon mono6 polyamide hydrolysis according to the structure of the universal experimental machine Solution: akulonflex single 6 polyamide is specially designed for flexible air duct, while arniteltpe is specially designed for clean air duct. Moreover, our strong product design, CAE and product design optimization technical support meet the requirements of customer OEMs. "
